Uh-Oh #Lisbon...I’m falling for you...

// S I N G L E // ・ I’ve been single now for around 7 months. I’m only just starting to use single as a status, before it was “I’ve just come out of a relationship”, as if I’m was in some liminal untouchable process. Perhaps I was. Perhaps I still am. ・ I was dreading #ValentinesDay - a day where for single people, society confirms that to be fulfilled you need to be in a relationship, and if you aren’t then you should be pitied. This way my first Valentines single for six years. I’m in #Lison and I wanted to hide away. ・ I didn’t. I got up early, dragged my sorry hungover ass around the touristy must sees of Lisbon. I took a #GymnasticRings class with @wanderlovinyogi & @she.likes.to.move (Movers check out these two if you are coming to Lisbon) and for dinner booked a table for one, which actually turned out to be one table! ・ At @localrestaurantelx there is only one table that caters for 10. There are three chefs who cook, serve and explain the how’s and why’s of the food you about to eat. You all eat and talk together, chefs included. Single doesn’t matter at this restaurant, their ethos is to get strangers to connect over incredible food. There were only three guests, myself included. It sounds awkward but I spent two hours with two Australian infectious disease professors talking about life and it’s navigation. It was incredible. ・ My point is, we make this life. Society offers us structures, rules and ‘must-dos’ but it up to us to make this life our own, and live it in a way that works for us. ・ DISCLAIMER - Sharing is caring. // R E T R E A T // • Some people don’t like the word retreat, they feel it symbolises backing away, giving up. I disagree. • A retreat is something I feel we should all invest more time, finances and energy in doing. We need to take more time out of our hectic, over-stimulated lives to explore our inner worlds. Retreats are the perfect place for reflection and to know where we really are at. • March 4th - 8th I am leading a Forrest Yoga retreat in a boutique Cornish farmhouse @tregullandandco • We’ve hired the whole house and barn, with its fresh water swimming pool and 16 acres of private woodland with a lake. The talented @rosarigby will be creating delicious healthy meals and snacks. @dlw_therapies will be doing her magic offering incredible bodywork therapies. • There will be time to work hard, exploring more about your practice and yourself in the process.
